Josh Lee takes on the end of a relationship in his performance of “O Fly Not” by Elizabethan composer, Thomas Morley. Originally intended to be performed by three singers, in this instrumental arrangement Lee takes on the role of a desperate man begging his lover for one last look to ease his torment, equating abandonment with death. A short, intense work full of interplay between the three parts, Lee recorded and edited this work alone in the opening days of the COVID-19 pandemic after having to table a collaborative project centered around the same repertoire.
